IMD issues heavy rain, wind and cold wave warnings across several states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a significant weather alert as active weather systems influence large areas of the country. Over the next 48 hours, heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, accompanied by winds of up to 40 km/h, are forecast in four states, with dense fog expected in several northern districts.

Areas likely to experience these conditions include Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. These disturbances may cause sudden fluctuations in temperature and visibility disruptions on roads and in air travel.

The IMD has advised residents and commuters to remain vigilant, monitor weather updates, and take appropriate safety precautions. Cold waves are expected to persist in some northern regions even as rain and wind affect central and western parts of the country.
