Trump Invites India to Join ‘Board of Peace for Gaza’ as Part of Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Efforts
US President Donald Trump has invited India to join the Board of Peace for Gaza, a new international body aimed at ensuring long-term stability and governance in the region.
US President Donald Trump has formally invited India to join the newly constituted Board of Peace for Gaza, an international body aimed at ensuring long-term peace, governance, and stability in the war-hit region.
The invitation was confirmed by Sergio Gor, the US Ambassador to India, who shared the development in a post on X. Gor said it was an honour to convey President Trump’s invitation to Narendra Modi to participate in the initiative.
“The Board of Peace will support effective governance to achieve lasting stability and prosperity in Gaza,” Gor wrote, describing the initiative as a major step toward long-term peace in the region.
The Board of Peace for Gaza was unveiled by President Trump as part of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. It is being positioned as a new multilateral platform that will oversee Gaza’s transition from active conflict to peace, reconstruction, and development.
According to the formal invitation letter sent by the White House, President Trump described the initiative as a “historic and transformative effort” to bring lasting peace to the Middle East while also setting a precedent for resolving global conflicts.
The letter noted that on September 29, 2025, Trump announced a Comprehensive 20-point Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, which was later welcomed by world leaders across the Arab world, Israel, and Europe. In support of this plan, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 2803 on November 17, 2025, endorsing the vision outlined by the US president.
Earlier, the White House said the Board of Peace would play a central role in implementing the 20-point roadmap, providing strategic oversight as Gaza moves from conflict toward peace and economic revival, according to a report by PTI.
