In a major agricultural support initiative, the Madhya Pradesh government announced that on January 29, 2026 it will transfer ₹200 crore into the bank accounts of around 1.17 lakh soybean farmers under the Bhavantar Payment Scheme. This payment represents the fourth installment of price compensation aimed at bridging the gap between Minimum Support Prices (MSP) and market rates for soybean produce.

Under the scheme, the state directly credits eligible farmers to offset losses incurred when market prices fall below MSP, thereby stabilising incomes and reducing volatility for growers. The step demonstrates the government’s focus on rural welfare and boosting farm resilience.

Along with the transfer, state leaders are expected to announce additional developmental or welfare measures that complement farmer support efforts. The initiative is seen as part of a broader commitment to agricultural sustainability and socio-economic stability in the region.
