A nationwide Bharat Bandh called by farmers’ organisations and central trade unions has affected normal life across multiple states in India. Public transport services were partially suspended in several regions, while banks and government offices reported reduced operations.
In states like Punjab, Kerala, Haryana, and parts of Karnataka, protestors staged demonstrations on highways and near public offices. Although emergency services were kept operational, commuters faced inconvenience due to roadblocks and reduced bus and train services.
The central government stated that it remains open to dialogue and urged protestors to maintain peace. Meanwhile, farmer leaders reiterated their demands, stating that the bandh reflects widespread public dissatisfaction with existing policies.
